Ramon Ayres (Brazil) first experienced theatre at a young age. He was part of the theatre group Nativos Terra Rasgada for 6 years. He also worked with various companies, gaining experience in classical and contemporary plays. As well as immersive theatre, performing in street theatre and in site specific shows, manipulating puppetry, wearing masks, dancing Afro-Brazilian dances and contact improvisation. He is graduated in theatre from University of Sorocaba, Brazil and The International School of Corporeal Mime. Ramon joined the international touring company Theatre de l’Ange Fou and toured with them in U.S. He co - directed the physical theatre piece “The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall” that went on to tour in the UK, Italy and India.Ramon had the unique experience of being part of the project “Master in Residence” at Grotowski Institute, mentored by Eugenio Barba, witnessing the creative process of “The Chronic Life” by Odin Teatret. He was also selected to experience the process of the acclaimed performance “The Encounter”, as part of the Theatre Complicite's workshop: Adapting the Encounter, led by Kirsty Housley. He performed at Barbican in the physical theatre performance 300 el x 50 el x 30 el by FC Bergman. As well as directing and performing, Ramon has taught Corporeal Mime at Icelandic Academy of the Arts and is currently teaching at Fourth Monkey. Ramon is the co-founder of Ephemeral Ensemble. Co-directed and performed in Ephemeral Ensemble’s OFFSTAGE.
